All of the images in these pieces are hand-made transfers from original paintings or drawings I have done. They are hand-embellished, and finished with a combination of antique sheet music, washi tape, Japanese or Indian paper and other ephemera.

Veiled Figure with Reed - Köln, Germany

This funerary monument is located in the Melatenfriedhof (Melaten) Cemetery in Köln, Germany. The Melatenfriedhof Cemetery was constructed on a farm that housed lepers during the 12th century until the asylum's closure in 1767, when the disease had largely been eradicated. A decree by Napoleon in 1804 prohibiting burials within city walls prompted the city to buy part of the farmland, demolish the asylum, and create the cemetery and green space. The first person to be interred there was on July 1st, 1810.
